Awesome deal!! I just spent $100 on Band of brothers and the Pacific... How does this work from the US??? Is there an import tarriff??? NYS taxes??? I'd love the X-Men and Alien sets at that price. Planet earth for ~$20 US looks great too depending on importing cost...

Import fees + shipping seems very reasonable. Even with them tacked on you still save over the U.S. price.

The shipper pays for any of the fees/tarrifs etc. It's generally included in the shipping charges already, so whatever you pay Amazon is the final price. I have bought many bluray sets from UK Amazon, and it is awesome. Stupid that it costs more over here.

Yea but they don't have the movie i want region free :( God I hate region crap. I could rant for days about movie studios rleasing blu raysin europe as region b and refusal or delay to release in usa. The current movie starting up my rant is Garden State (great movie!).

Anyways anyone know if the box set Girl with Dragon tatoo from uk amazon is really region b as noted on the site ?

The prices are even better than posted because for non-British buyers, they take off the 20% VAT that's included in the prices.

I've bought lots of stuff from the UK and there never seems to be any extra fees, unless it's built into the shipping.

Hmmm, the Band of Brothers blu-ray appears to be region B/2. Actually, all options for Band of Brothers were region B/2. Weird since you can get The Pacific region free.

I ordered BoB awhile back. Even though description says region B/2, mine turn out to be region free. See link.

The Stanley Kubrick collection seems good. I've bought from the UK too and while shipping was slow, they're good prices.

Not sure but I thought I heard all the blu-rays will play on PS3, even if listed for a region - but check if that's right.

Last i tried playing other region BR's on a PS3 required jail breaking and a special installer that would only work for 1 reset (install, reset, it works, reset again, back to standard)

Yep. Almost all of my box sets have come from Amazon UK. Just be sure you are buying the region free or region 1 ones.

Some like the Alien Antholgy $9.99 pound version are region 2. That won't work.

Shipper doesn't usually pay. Any customs fees are certainly not included in any shipping cost for typical retailers.

It's just that customs generally aren't interested in small-value retail packages to private addresses - so a large proportion just go through without charges.

I bought Band of Brothers from Amazon UK about a year ago. The box arrived EMPTY via USPS. Amazon UK was great though and immediately sent a replacement that got here via UPS.

I bought the Region Free Harry potter movies (1-8) for $40 shipped from there. Great deals!

If this were still available I'd be all over it. But right now it's showing 36.99 GBP = 58.5762 USD, and that's without shipping and tariffs :(

I ordered this set last night. Unit price was 30.83GBP. Shipping was 3.08GBP. Total price delivered to Portland, OR in USD came out to $56.01, which is still much cheaper than buying from Amazon's US site (of course, I'm counting on not getting hit with any additional tariffs).

I bought that set for $48 last December, and they sent me two by mistake!!! They said it would cost too much to ship it back, so I should consider it a gift :). I sold a set to my friend for $24, effectively getting the box set for $24

Another thing to be aware of is shipping times. Granted, free shipping on Amazon's US site is unforgivably slow (it often takes at least a week until they even give the damned thing to the common carrier). But the Harry Potter set I ordered on April 5th from the UK site isn't supposed to be delivered until May 5th (and it was actually given to the carrier for delivery on April 8th).

Not a gripe, but just an alert - shipping can take a long time from the UK site.

yea it seems totally random on how long it takes, ive seen times anywhere from 5 days to 6 weeks on similar sized items

Its sadly unavailable now, but I purchased the Band of Brother/Pacific combo blu ray LE for about 52 us dollars shipped...

Certainly beat the over $100 set being sold in the States...and it took less than a week after it was released..

Amazon.co.uk is a great place to find blus for much less (and they usually list when region free) - must be worth noting however, that the Kubrick collection doesnt have Spartacus and Dr. Strangelove like the U.S release does...
