Anyone use it? Likes/dislikes? Other than it'll be on a gift card. Looks like it'll be way less hassle than finding a buyer.

The kid's upgrading his console and they're offering way more $$ than gamestop.

Edit:Looking at the wrong xbox. The 4gb is within $10 of gamestop.

I have used it for the upgrade of Madden (there was a deal where if you bought the prev gen version, for $5 you can upgrade to the next gen when the consoles release) and it was pretty painless.

They have it for all kinds of products as well, not just games. You can trade in your router!

He's got the destiny upgrade for free so he'll have one game until he pays for more or Christmas.

I have used it repeatedly, including trading in an iPad (first-gen), two iPhones (4 and 5), a DSLR (Sony A580) and a lens (Sony 50mm). In each case I rated the condition as Good. Amazon upgraded all of the items, other than my iPhone 5, to Like New, and paid me accordingly. My iPhone 5 had a scuff on it and they downgraded it to Acceptable. Overall I have found it a painless and worthwhile service, and would use it again. I am a Prime member and buy so much from Amazon that getting their gift card is essentially the same thing as cash to me, and the amounts I get tend to be top dollar when you subtract out the costs associated with selling things on eBay.

I've used it in the past for games, consoles, and blurays. I always checked eBay first to see if it was worth it, Amazon came out ahead on literally everything except new release blurays (1 month or less) and first-party games like Super Mario Bros, Super Smash Bros, etc for the Wii -- even before factoring in eBay/Paypal fees which take another 10-12% or whatever it is now.

You create your trade-in transaction, they send you a prepaid shipping label, you box it up, drop it off and you're good to go.

I've used it on some games (most nowadays are $.25), books, DVDs, Blu-Rays, used electronics, and more. Its easy and hassle free. The prices seem to have come down quite a bit as more people have used the service. My last was an unused GoPro Hero 3, which I seriously considered putting on ebay as there was probably a $40 difference after ebay fees, in the end I just wanted it gone and sent it in.

That right there is just bad parenting :p

Cute kid. A bit short for 13 though

QFT. Blame his looks and height on his Mom. Brains, too.:|

You did notice the superman cape, right?

He's 5'4" now, at 13, and wishing for +1' at the end.

Edit: Did you smile? Because that is one proud kid.

Back when they first started trade-in programs, there were financial incentives to get people to use it. I bought a brand-new copy of that God of War knock-off, Date's Inferno. Traded it to Amazon without opening the shrink wrap. All I remember is that Amazon paid me more than I paid for it new.

Before you send to amazon you may want to check out walmart. They just started a trade in program and I just traded in 3 games for about double what amazon was giving.

They got over that.

I stopped using Gamestop, once Amazon's trade in service was made available. And, I don't compare or look for the best price offered - I don't want to give ANY money and business to Gamestop.

Plus, I shop all the time from Amazon,.. so, it works for me.

Experience wise, maybe once or twice, a trade took a week longer than usual, but, everything went through without any problems.
