I don't want to buy something else like PlayOn. Not to mention when I had the trial version loaded browsing the library was HORRIBLE.

Any free options to get Amazon Prime streaming on my PS3?

Yeah, I just saw that it went live. And it looks like there is free streaming for everyone for a week. I need to check this out tonight.

$35 a year?

Er... No.. They bumped it from $50 a year to $60 a year. However, you can find it for about $30-35 if you look for a deal.

Incidentally, great timing on the OP posting this thread. :p

last year the deals lasted until February or so. this year i'm still getting email alerts about discounted xbox live

PS3 is an awesome blu rayer but sony has a lot of work to do if they are going to beat MS in the next gen console race

Very nice, I've been wanting this forever for the few shows I buy not just for the Prime free video. Now I might never need to give Sony a new CC number for PSN points.

I haven't checked on Amazon's list since it started. Is there anything it has that Netflix doesn't?

$35 a year?

I wouldn't care if it was $5. They aren't providing the service why should I pay them? I own both systems but rarely turn on the 360 except as a media extender... Which doesn't need Xbox live.

Yep! M$ is ridiculous. I can see M$ charging for Xbox Live online gaming but requiring an Xbox Live Gold just to be able to use free streaming services is a rip.

Thankfully there are so many BETTER alternatives than using the 360.

I fully expect it to be on the 360 within the next month. Amazon is not one for exclusivity.

Thought about this, it may not be an exclusivity thing as much as MS not wanting a competing pay video service on their system.

amazon finally made prime palatable by adding their streaming service. ~$90/yr was hard to justify when it only really gave you cheap fast shipping... but being able to have a video selection now really makes it hard to pass up.

netflix currently seems to be a lot better of course, but i dont see any way amazon will back down on this. im honestly surprised netflix has done as well as it has, with it being a small startup company and all. look for amazon to dominate tv and movie contracts i would imagine... netflix has got to be squirming for sure.
