I think Amazon is purposely delaying the shipping of my orders to convince me to subscribe to prime. I have noticed as of lately that it is taking them FOREVER to ship my orders. Third party orders are spot on and come in a reasonable amount of time. I order 2 sets of xbox one controller chargers on the 27th and they still haven't shipped...

It's called prioritizing. Think about it, they have a slew of Prime members that they need to get their orders out to meet the 2-day delivery expectation. They'll get to the non-Prime orders after all the Prime member orders are processed. If it means delaying non-Prime orders, so be it. Stop being a cheap ass, or stop complaining.

If amazon gets 10K orders, but only has the ability to process 7k of them, the other 3k have to wait for another day. Prime members just get sent to the front of the line. You want free shipping, just wait at the back of the line. They will get to your order eventually. They only guarantee that they will push you towards the front eventually. Sometimes you get lucky and the order gets processed quickly, sometimes it has to wait. I can tell you this, Amazon isnt going to sit on an order and have packers standing around doing nothing.

I had a monitor blow on me while working from home yesterday so got to try their new 'Prime now' app/service- they encouraged a $10 tip, but also had a $20 off coupon so I went w/ the $10 tip - monitor was @ my door in under 90 mins. Don't think I'd use it all that much for most purchases but pretty nice for items you need asap. Pretty cool, they let you add specific delivery instructions, and can watch the delivery driving on a map as he's driving to your address.

I've had prime now for at least the last 5 years so can't comment on the regular shipping, but I haven't noticed any slow downs- in fact they're now offering free 1 day delivery for orders over $35 on a bunch of their items.

$10 tip? Jeebus did that come with a blowjob? Since when do you tip a UPS driver? Or tip anyone for simply HANDING you the merchandise you ordered? Do you tip the check out clerk @ Walmart?

Also, lol @ "Suggested tip". If a tip is "suggested" it's no longer a tip

Well I've never had someone drop off my purchase in under 90 minutes before for 'free'. I could have zeroed the tip, but figured it wasn't a big deal. Again, I used a $20 off coupon so not an issue...I beleive they use smaller couriers- not UPS/Fedex - similar how you tip a delivery driver? They do also actually deliver food/beer etc.

Not sure how you're relating it to checking out at walmart- that'd be a whole different experience where it'd be 90 minutes of my time driving there and back/waiting in line etc. If I didn't want to tip I didn't have to, or could have gone w/ 1 day delivery. Like I said, in most cases that's exactly what I'd do- but the option for quick same delivery is nice.
