Today's amazon sale actually is pretty darn good. Remember, you also get $5 credit towards 2011 best sellers next month too.

Tropico 4 - $4.99

CitiesXL 2012 - $11.99

Cryotasis - $1.99

Dungeons - $7.49

There's more that I'm not gonna try to list.

Nice deal on Tropico 4. Too bad they don't have the Cities XL 2012 expansion for sale. The whole game is $11.99, but the expansion for 2011 owners is $15. :)

T4 for $5 is hot as hell.

you could make out with that and the two DLC's for less than what steam was offering the base game for during the holiday sale.

XL 2012 worth 12 bucks? I asked about it a while back, and the impression I got was that it was XL2011, which was XL2010. That 2.5 star rating doesn't inspire me with confidence.

On a side note, I bought SimCity 2000 for a couple bucks from GoG . . . thats an awesome game.

XL 2012 is an expansion. You can buy as full game (which is really 2011 + expansion) or the expansion if you own XL 2011. The core gameplay and the disgusting use of 1-core only are present still. There were no actual game fixes. :)

Meh, I'll pass then.

Whats really crazy and something I overlooked from SunnyD's post is you get $5 credit to 2011 best sellers. Not sure if you can combine them, but I picked up Tropico and Hotel Giant 2 for like $8 and now have $10 in credit. Sweet, hopefully Skyrim will be on the list and I can apply both for that.

I think it's a limit of one coupon per purchase.

Yep. So if Skyrim comes up on the Best Games list, for example, you'll only be able to use one of the coupons/credits. I managed to snag a $5 credit for a 47 cent purchase of the Blood DLC for Shogun :p

And for those iffy on Cities XL: it is basically an expansion to 2011 as others have mentioned. I haven't tried the extra stuff in 2012, but do have 2011. I like it as a change of pace from SimCity 4. Cities played basically is more macro to SimCity 4's micro on the city level. Once to the inter-city metagaming, it's about equal depending on tastes. Though you can go uber micro on Cities by placing individual buildings of your choosing. I also found Cities to have much better traffic simulation compared to an unmodded SimCity 4. Graphics are really nice to boot.

That being said, the fact they STILL haven't fixed the engine limitations is just mind numbingly frustrating. Though I think they might have tossed in a fix to break the 32-bit memory limitations, which helped with crashes on larger cities. Performance still goes to crap, though, due to a single core.

Hrm..I think I might pick it up :/ I liked Cities even with the frustrations, kinda like how I still enjoy playing SimCity 4 even though it requires voodoo dances at times to get working. Amazon is still running their deal where you get 10 points/$ on digital downloads on the Amazon card, so hey, I save a buck or two.

The $5 credit is active now. BF3 was $25 bucks after credit yesterday. Just picked up DNF for $1 earlier and activated it on Steam :p.

The BF3 deal is over after one (or a fraction of a) day. Amazon isn't matching on Skyrim.

Nice catch on Duke Nukem.

If anyone has the link to the eligible games handy, it'd go well in this thread, in the OP preferably. I'm not seeing other great deals currently for the coupon.

Is it sad that I wouldn't buy Duke Nukem Forever for 1$ with my 5$ off coupon? Went with The Witcher instead.

Tropico 4...

I saw it during the Holiday Sales stuff going around and while the "4" threw me off a bit I saw the artwork and recognized it and thought yeah I have that game I played it last year...

Then I saw the release date of August 2011 and was starting to get confused, it felt like a lot longer since I last played this game... what's going on...

Finally it dawned on my that I was thinking about Tropico 3, and that # 4 was actually a new title I haven't played yet. And this game's already just $5??!!

So... are the 2 games really that different? I looked at screenshots and could'nt tell them apart.

I think I've read that there is a population cap on T4.

From what I understand there's very little difference (has there ever been a lot of difference between tropicos?). Tropico 4 is a dlc delivery engine though, which is the only reason I don't own it.
