I bought Divinity II during the steam sale earlier this month based on comments here- it's showing it's age a bit, but I'm a few hours in and really enjoying it.

It's a year and a half old.

And $40 now on Steam.

ok guess I just assumed it was a bit older than that...

It is in some sense. The engine/world was originally designed years before for the original Divinity and the first Divinity II (Ego Draconis). Then they released an expansion which is actually pretty crappy compared to the main game since there's only one long dragon sequence (the rest is in cities and indoors, so human form only). The whole thing was then re-released in 2010 with updated content and rebranded "Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga." And even though it "feels" a little older, I actually found that to be the source of a lot of it's charm. Overall, it's a fantastic experience at retail prices. Anything less than $15 and you just stole the game...

Lol, you are not going to get me to buy another game. I'm already a year behind in my Steam account.

Ha, I skipped Divinity II back on Steam Summer Sale at $10 but couldn't help it today that it's only $6.

Dragon Age I & II pack is again at $10. I remember some people waiting for this sale to happen again.

Thanks for the heads up.

Divinity 2 is tempting... but I picked up Fallout New Vegas during the Steam sale, which I should probably play first. There is seriously no reason to pay over $10 for games these days, 95% of the time. They drop to that price point far faster than I can even play the ones I'm interested in.

And that's something that threatens the creation of quality new games.

Well now, I hope Divinity 2 ends up being good; I thought I was just toying with the idea of buying it but then Amazon was like, "Thank you for your purchase!"
That was the first time I've ordered from them with my credit card on file and, damn, they make that waaaaay too easy.

I downloaded a quick Demo from Steam for Divinity 2 Ego Draconis before pulling the trigger and I am getting all kinds of nasty graphical artifacts even with everything at stock speeds. My card plays everything under the sun without any problems but this game crashed my CCC 3 times already.

I did a quick google search and found users having similar issues with AMD cards:

These are not mine, but I get similar style artifacts ONLY in this game.

I am not sure if this game is buggy as hell or something is amiss on my end? Using Cats 12.7 Beta

I'm going to guess the game just hates ATI cards in general. IIRC there were several games came out around the same time that were very temperamental if played with an ATI card.

My card definitely does not play anything under the sun (only a 8800 GS) and there's absolutely no problem.

I picked up DKS for 6 bucks I have only played it a couple hours but I am trying desperately to make a clean break from skyrim after 120 hours into it. I also have Diablo3, KOA reckoning, the witcher, all waiting in the wings but cant seem to be able to stray too far from skyrim just yet, but for the little I have played of each it looks like DKS is the front runner with reckoning a close second. A good deal indeed for 6 bucks.
