Amazon - Returning Hardware

For years and years I've bought my parts through NewEgg for my machines, and they've been pretty solid. In the last 2 years I've had Amazon prime, and have been extremely pleased with the speed / quality of shipping. In comparing parts this time around for my new rig, I was leaning towards Amazon because of the free second day shipping, and the prices are extremely competitive. However, I've never had the experience of returning anything / dealing with their customer service - especially when it involves computer parts.

To those that have some experience, how good / bad was it? Did you have problems or was it relatively easy and quick? Thanks for any answers.

Depends on what really. Most of the time if purchased through Amazon, you can just create RMA on the web, and schedule a pickup (or dropoff) at UPS center, and you're done. As long as it's within 30 days of purchase.

I had an expensive camera lens from Amazon that was not working when it was delivered. Amazon shipped a new one without waiting for the return. I took the broken one to UPS and shipped it using the Amazon account, which they recommend. I assume their shipping cost is cheaper than my cost.

Everything was taken care of without a hitch.

Never had a problem with Amazon. Most of their computer stuff is from 3rd parties, but I have never had a problem with Amazon or had to return anything. They are good - their fast checkout is excellent.

My only complaint is that their free shipping is UPS. I would much prefer USPS Priority Mail in the EZ-Ship box.
