Has hell frozen over? In all seriousness Amazon has been rolling lately with their music match service, and now an iPad instant video app. From playing with it, it works great and uses their whispersync tech so you can pause and play from device to device. But, it's limited to wifi only, and there is not an iPhone app, but it's honestly quite a surprise to see it at all.

Doesn't this hurt the Kindle Fire?

I doubt it. Their margins are thin on Fire's so they're really selling the Amazon ecosystem. Their end goal is for people to pay $79 for a year of Prime, as well as purchase digital content they offer. They effectively opened the door for millions of iPad users (who aren't likely to buy a Fire anyway) to become further entrenched in their ecosystem.
