Amazon Referral Links

What's with the sudden proliferation of referral links to amazon in the HD forum??

A couple of them have been new members, who ok should have read the rules, but didn't... One didn't care and tried to argue his side when it was pointed out to him... even so arrogant to go change his original posts to link directly (he was going through a 3rd part site first which skirts the issue).

But this morning, one of his finds has popped back up, and the referral link is back...

What makes his link a referral one? I have trouble figuring it out with some of the more complicated links.

His link:www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002UCJV6/qid=1122937657/sr=8-1/re
=pd_bbs_unbuck_1/104-7618441-7332766?v=glance&s=software&n=541966

My link if I start out at Amazon.com:
www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002UCJV6/qid=1122993735/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_sbs_1/102-2785210-6400122?v=glance&s=software&n=507846

If the OP is talking about the bolded section, then I don't think that's a referral. I've seen that as well on Amazon's site as well. I even brought it up on one HD post, but the OP assured me it wasn't a referral.

yes ive noticed that too...I do not believe they are referrels
they are NOT referrals. do a search on Amazon, and then click on the item that's brought up. you will see a "ref" in that link.

Nevermind, I thought it had to do with logging in and out but it seems that isn't the case.
