Hooooooly crap. I just found out. I went to watch ex machina just now and it went full screen. I thought something was wrong and was expecting black bars, but nope, its 21:9 in all its glory. As long as the movie supports it, you can watch it on your widescreen properly. Damn amazing.

It was just really cool to have a streamed movie playing in full 21:9. Leads me to think the wide screen popularity is increasing.

They stream HD, I just don't believe they do UHD to anything but 4k smart TVs and other similar devices. Like netflix.

Nope! Its a misconception they do. If you look at support for it, its only select titles, and ONLY to microsoft Edge browser. Chrome and Firefox is not supported. The other thing people don't understand is that TV support is limited, and they REMOVE tv sets after a few years.

They stream 1080pHD to computers just fine with most browsers from my experience, it DOES require that your ENTIRE media chain be HDCP compliant however (so my GPU and monitors must support HDCP DRM). From what I have seen online, 4k SHOULD work if you have a 4k monitor with the proper HDCP 2.2 on the GPU, Monitor, etc. But I dont have the equipment to test that out. But I can at least confirm that 1080p streaming works.
