http://www.geekwire.com/2015/amazon-expands-prime-now-one-hour-delivery-service-to-dallas/

Just expanded to Dallas this weekend...

Has anyone used this yet? I was about to order some stuff this morning...$15 minimum...1 hour delivery is $7.99 but 2 hour delivery is free...

New line in the check out section though - for Tips...for my $20 order, it suggested a tip of $5. At that point, I just closed the app....If I needed something that quickly and couldn't make it to grocery store less than 5 minutes from the house, I would probably do it though...

This should be a great thread since ATOT loves tipping...LOL

Wow, it really suggested a 25% tip? I tip well...in restaurants...if the server was super awesome. I have weird food allergies, so if the waiter not only does a good job but also goes above & beyond for handling my ingredient issues, then I have no problem leaving a big tip because they deserve it. And I always throw the pizza guy a few bucks unless he was super late or squished the pizzas or something. But if it's literally your job to make deliveries all day long, I dunno about a 25% tip...sounds kinda nuts.

They should just combine Uber with Amazon Prime Now delivery & get it over with :p

In reading some other articles about this, it looks like $5 is the suggested tip regardless of the order amount...and you can't tip in cash...it has to be paid at the time the order is submitted...

I guess that makes more sense. So one-hour delivery is $8 plus a recommended $5 tip, and 2-hour delivery is free plus a recommended $5 tip.

I don't know how I feel about tipping someone who does this as like a specific commercial job, vs. paying say a bike messenger to rush you something over. I guess it's the same thing tho...

How about they get paid a wage and we don't hassle the customer over a tip?

how would this work for Amazon Prime Now? would should get paid extra (over the Non Prime Now orders) this? The people packaging the rush order? the delivery person? the people who maintain the servers?
