1st world problem.

Edit- What in the actual fuck? So I read the petition and I think dude has a local USPS problem. Over here I have had no problems and they always ring the door bell. In fact, I prefer USPS priority over the damn UPS. Priority goes by air and I always get my shit in no more than three days. I ordered a pair of pants that came from Mane sent via UPS and that shit took forever to get here. Had the company just sent the damn thing USPS priority I'd have my pants in three days! Now if you want your item shipped via air with the UPS you're gonna pay for it and then some.

Now I can agree about the long lines and understaffed post office. I hate going in there. I don't understand it myself. I take a package there and I'm done. Other people are like having a freaking tea party with the damn clerk! WTF are they doing that is taking so long?!

Sounds like a local problem to me, have had only one issue with Prime when an item apparently was lost en route. I called them up, they reissued it and was delivered two days later. Most things arrive surprisingly fast.

I've never had a problem with Amazon package delivery, regardless of the carrier. My USPS guy comes earlier in the day than UPS, so Prime deliveries coming via USPS actually get here hours sooner (if hours matter.)

The problem is with the carriers, but I guess asking Amazon for options never hurts...

USPS "lost" a package from an eBay seller a while back. Their exact words on my third visit to the post office were "Well... It's not lost, we just can't find it right now." Which sounds an awful lot like "lost" to me... I never actually got the package (tracking says it was delivered, though... So it must have been, right?!). Fortunately, the seller shipped a free replacement after I contacted them and explained.

FedEx has left a door tag on my door on numerous occasions saying that they missed me, when they didn't. No joke, I have literally watched the truck pull up, the driver walk to the door and stick a tag on the door. No package in his hands, never even knocked. He seemed shocked when I opened the door and asked if he was planning on actually trying to deliver the package, or just leave a note and run.

Both FedEx and UPS have left "signature required" packages in my driveway more than once. In plain sight, no less.

Jesus... It seems no one wants to actually do their damn job. Fuck man, it's what your paid for. I for one take pride in my job and what I do. It's what I was hired for. It's just mind boggling the complete jackoffs out their that don't take pride in earning a respectable pay check. I mean something you actually earned.

ive probably ordered 200+ items on amazon in the past 2 years with prime and had exactly 2 packages a day late. in both cases, amazon gave me a credit, and in one of those cases, they completely refunded me the cost of the item, which was only like $10, but it was baby wipes and i was literally out and needed them that day. so i had to run to the store to get some more, and i told amazon that, and they just refunded me the entire price of the item. then the next day, 700+ baby wipes showed up that were free.

i can't really complain about their service at all. and on top of that, i've had items arrive in 1 day when they were supposed to be 2 days, many times.

so yeah, amazon owns me.

USPS in this new place has been particularly awful, which is a new experience for me. Mail carrier more often delivers a stack of the neighbor's mail than ours; for a recent amazon delivery, I got an amazon notification and then USPS notification about "failed delivery--no one home to receive package" ...which is weird because:

--I was at home during the times when that could have possibly been delivered
--the carrier always drops off the package, bangs on the door, and scampers away. Details include a note being left on the door (it wasn't), and to reschedule online. I was in the process of doing that the next day...when the carrier waltzed up the lawn and tossed the package on the door, then drove away.

They're really just lazy and mostly useless around here. UPS and FedEx have been great, though, as well as those 3rd-party carriers that show up in unmarked vans on Saturdays and Sundays for delivery.

As a frequent Amazon (prime) member for a few years now, I can say I've never had a single issue with any of the items I've bought from Amazon. That holds true for before I had prime as well. I see no need for this...

I've had to have Amazon put special notes on my account to only use FedEx as a last possible resort. On three separate occasions, I have had FedEx screw me over. One of those three, they had actually stolen something from inside the box.

I'll be signing this.

I'd sign it if i thought it would matter, but i doubt it will. I've voiced my complaints to Amazon every time i have a problem so they know i don't like not being able to chose the carrier.

as for people writing this off as simply, "it sounds like a local problem, i've never had a problem". That is the whole point of being able to chose your own carrier. you know which carrier is a problem in your area and which one isn't so you want to be able to chose which one to use and not get stuck by random chance.

Yeap. I can't think of a problem I have had with any carrier ever for goods purchased anywhere.

Signed. I fucking hate USPS.

Packages magically lost, after waiting on hold for 50 minutes to get a customer service rep they "magically" find it and start shipping after sitting still for 10 days.

Deliver it to the wrong address or put the key in the wrong mailbox.

I honestly wonder how much mail I never receive that should be...

USPS - 5+ lost packages over the last couple years. Tons that were supposed to be within 2-3 days, end up being 4-5 magically.

UPS - Maybe 1 issue? And they resolved it

Fedex - Don't use them enough to give a rating.

I just bought some camping chairs from Jet, the seller sent one by UPS, and 1 by USPS. Same seller, confused the hell outta me.

Haven't had a problem with any delivery from amazon, but I could see a need for this.

I personally haven't had a delivery issue with Amazon (I also have Prime), and my carrier for them has always been UPS as far as I know. But still, it seems giving customers a choice only seems like a good thing to do.

Yeah, it sounds like a USPS problem. My carrier is awful as well. I have a covered porch with 4 steps. Where does the mailman leave the box? At the bottom. I ordered an SSD for my laptop. How does the mailman put it in the mailbox? By jamming it in there so 3/4 of it is hanging out.

I have plenty of stories about the other carriers as well. I hate when the regular UPS guy has vacations or whatever. My regular tucks stuff out of site nicely. The replacement seems to like to let everyone know I have a package waiting for me.
