Should be popular. Wonder if it will allow existing Prime members to extend membership at the $67 price.

This one day discount will start on Friday, September 25 at 12:00 a.m. ET and end at 11:59 p.m. PT. New members can sign up for this limited-time Prime offer at Amazon.com/TransparentPrime.

Unfortunately it appears the answer is no. This is for new members.

Yes you can extend.

Can someone link to the slickdeals hot deals thread?

No. Don't link to it.

you have to buy it as a gift to your amazon email. once your sub ends you can use this to renew.

Will work for current Amazon Prime subscribers doing the following:
1) Purchase the promotional year as a 'gift'
2) Have the 'gift' show up to YOUR OWN email address
3) Choose a date for the gift when purchasing to be near (or on) the day your prime expires
4) You will get the prime gift code, and will be able to use it only AFTER your prime 'expires'

Might sign on for a year. Tried a trial and their video streaming is not bad for children. Don't really order much from them. Maybe I can use their Kindle library but the local library probably is just as good.

So we can save money and support the confusion of a group of people? Loving someone is telling them the truth with genuine love. Not supporting something that is scientifically false. Support the person not the lie.

What on earth does this have to do with Hot Deals?

Deal is live but the gift trick doesn't seem to be working according the SD forum posts.

Won't let me check out with out in my cart saying in already a subscriber. How do we add as a gift?

If you're already have Prime it looks like they closed the loophole that allowed you to gift it to yourself. You're welcome to check out the topic at slickdeals.net but we can't link to it.

If you only have a little bit of time left on your current Prime sub it looks like you can cancel and then get the deal. I guess that would work the same with those using the free 30 day Prime trial.

Also, if you're sharing your Prime account Amazon recently changed it policy so you can only share with only one person and not up to four. You need to look into that further before you cancel or let your Prime lapse as you may lose your grandfathered status.

Works fine here but still not sure if I am going to do it or not yet. I will definitely make at least 6 purchases from amazon this year that I know of.

For any existing Prime members, Amazon was saying on their Facebook that you should be able to be credited the difference today. I will be giving them a call as my membership went through 10 days ago. Will report back how it goes later today after work.

What works fine, can you elaborate?

Are you a new or existing Prime customer (trial doesn't count)?

Hmm?

So are they crediting ALL prime members? Is there a cut-off as to how recently your subscription went through?

Explain yourself sir!

Dunno the details but if you get in touch with them, success rate is pretty good according to the comments on their FB. If you don't have/want FB you'll have to take my word for it but what's to lose in calling/e-mailing them?

So, did that work for anyone?
