having just gone thru OCZ Vertex 3 120 gb for $69.99 AR at Newegg/Tigerdirect/Amazon, this doesn't seem like such a hot deal. Now that Vertex 4 is out, I'm sure we will see a lot more deals on Vertex 3.

I got all the way to the checkout and then read the first 15 reviews... wow OCZ has a bad rep. Hopefully there will be a sub $95 120gb for sale by a reputable company in the next few days... I REALLY need one.

The only experience I've had with OCZ was my 240GB Agility 3 dying on me after about 6 weeks of use.

RMA'd it and it took a little more than 2 weeks but I did get a brand new replacement.

I wouldn't use one as a boot drive but I'm really tempted to grab one just for keeping games on. Those can always be re-installed.

I've owned three OCZ SSDs, and they've all done well.

If OCZ is really serious on getting rid of these SSD's it should at least priced them aggressively without MIR! I mean Samsung went with the 830's for $90 on their 128GB without MIR! Now that's a real deal.

interesting suggestion. never thought of that.

Yea, just to clarify, I already have an M4 for boot drive. If you have a proven SSD for your boot drive, I wouldn't see a problem gambling your easily replaceable data on a budget SSD.

You're not kidding. I probably would have already grabbed 2!

On the otherhand, today MC is offering the OCZ Vertex 4 128GB for $100. I wonder if this is far better than their predecessor?

After rebate is not a deal because you are taking a chance. I just got stiffed by Sapphire on a rebate. Apparently Amazon's web invoice is not sufficient proof of purchase. I got rejected because I didn't send in the "packing slip". Yes, the packing slip, the one that clearly says this is not a receipt of purchase. Asswipes!

You should definitely keep bugging them until they send it. Proof of purchase would be the Amazon invoice not a packing slip.
