Link - Don't know if that date will hold but sounds like they are planning on getting it just in the year 2009.

I was reading that if a store knows what month but doesn't know the actual date they use the last day... but i think december is 30 days not 29?

December is 31 days. That and the 29th is a Tuesday...which is typically the release day for new games.

Unfortunately, it's still the last Tuesday of the year, so it's most likely a placeholder.

I can't imagine they'd have the game miss Christmas by 4 days. Maybe more like Holiday 2010, especially since they didn't show anything new at E3 this year (right?).

Did Sony ever explain why it's taking so long? Can we assume GT6 will come out faster?

Kaz (lead designer at Polyphony Digital) said they wanted to have full GT done by E3 but Sony was pushing them to finish GT Mobile for PSP so they could release GT mobile on the same day as the PSP go.
