Amazon just let me keep a $200 item for free. They do not want me to return it with a full refund

Thank you Amazon! I am shocked, surprised and stunned all at the same time lol. I love Amazon!

I went through live chat support when they told me this. They said to throw it away but in the email they sent me they said I could keep it, give it away or throw it away.

Amazon rocks and always will!

Why would we be jealous? This just means that you're one step closer to having any future returns refused.

Actually that is untrue.

I specifically asked Amazon a while ago if they do this.

Returned a lot of things to Amazon and never had a return refused ever. That is including with 30 to 50 pound items.

Probably has a lithium battery that requires special transport.

I heard stories of Amazon letting you keep items and refunding you but I never thought they were true.

magnets? I've heard of some speakers not needing to be returned.

Enjoy your concession though, you might be one small step closer to getting banned. :)

I never asked to keep this and didn't want to. I already have it packed up and ready to return. They told me to throw it away over live chat support.

In the email it said to keep it, donate it, or throw it away.

Really would not matter if I was banned there is plenty of other places to shop online and they know this.

I've always had to pay shipping to return crap. That is why I think Amazon sucks when I can get most stuff locally and price match them.

On most things I had to pay return shipping but not everything. It depends if you go through live chat support or do it through the website. Sometimes they will waive the return shipping. Don't ask me why. I don't lie either. I specially tell them I don't want the item anymore.

My Amazon story isn't as good. I ordered a large catnip container for my cats. They sent a small one instead. I called and informed them of the error. They gave me a $5 credit to my next Amazon purchase. The larger catnip was only 2.99 more so I profited $2.01. Wooo ballin.

Yesterday I just contacted them to see if they would have any more Zelda's on Switch to preorder for launch on Friday and they said they didn't know. For my "troubles" they credited me $5 lol.

Not Lithium, but otherwise that was likely the reason I got a free UPS.

I ordered two 1500VA sine wave UPSes. I got three of them. They told me just to keep the extra one.

Interestingly, they had no record in my shipping info of the third one. It was shipped to me with my name and address, but it never showed up in the account documentation, and I never received an email saying it had been shipped. I guess someone just packed up an extra one by mistake and shipped it, or something like that.

I thought I had an issue with a UPS bought from Amazon last year. Based on the box labeling, they had sent me the wrong model. When I contacted them about it, they told me they would ship me the correct one and I should just keep the other one. Once I realized the error was mine...and a mis-labeled box, I contacted them and told them NOT to ship the replacement...but it would have been a nice bonus!
