I saw on amazon.com's friday sale that the Sonicare Elite 7500 Toothbrush is on sale for $79.99.

What's more, if you spend $100 total on sonicare products, you get a $10 promotional certificate in a couple of months.

So the toothbrush plus 4 replacement heads for $109 and you get $10 back, if that floats your boat.

So is this just another electric toothbrush or is there something special about Sonicare? Look very interesting to me so can someone explain.

Nice deal on the brush heads. I would definitely buy another Sonicare in the future, Oral-B feels flimsy to me. My Sonicare lasted me 5 years already (with a few accidental drops on tiled floor).

Depends on the sonicare. This is the new and improved one. Dunno if oral-b has a similar model out yet. The original oral-b > original sonicare, though.

The above is entirely based on heresay from others and may not contain any factual information.

Nope...not true. Look at reviews.

The Sonicare vibrates the bristles at an ungodly speed so if effectively blasts plaque and tartar off your teeth. It cleans them so well it will actually whiten them over time. I just got one for my wife after using one for the last year, and she'll never go back to a regular tooth brush. You'll feel like you just got a cleaning from the dentist after every brushing (if you do it right).

Some things to keep in mind: The brush will start off weak and then gradually build up speed after 12 power cycles (6 days of use). This is to get you used to it and so it doesn't rip your gums to shreds. Some gum bleeding is normal due to weak or diseased gum tissue being removed. When using the Sonicare, make sure you let the brush do the work. Move it slowly around each tooth until the cycle is over (the brush turns off after 2 minutes).

Like I said...best brush ever :)

I just noticed from some reviews at amazon that this unit uses Ni-cad batteries. Anyone that uses this having any problems with memory effect, and if anyone knows when/if they will produce a model that will use NiMH batteries?

Thanks, OP.

I guess it is time for me to leave behind the world of manual toothbrushes and enter the brave new world of jumping electrons in my oral cavity. Ordered it with the four replacement heads, with super saver shipping. My teeth are already impatient. :)

Just got one myself and used a $15 certificate code on it too. My dental hygeinist keeps bugging me about getting an electric toothbrush because they clean so much better. Amazon has the best price on the brush heads too. Regular price is $24.99 for 2. Ouch.

I am sorely tempted to jump on this... I have an older Sonicare and they are just the best... get your teeth way cleaner than any other type electric toothbrush.

All these hot deals are gonna land me in the poorhouse, lol.

I've had mine for about 5-6 years now. Doesn't seem to be dying down to me. My wife and I have been using it for about 3 years now too, and all we ever need to buy are the brush heads every 6 months.

Link to Costco.com

Costco has the Sonicare Elite 7650 (special edition) which includes the 7500 plus 3 brush heads and a travel bag for 99.99. Regular price is 124.99 but there is currently a instant manufacturers rebate of $25. I bought mine at a B&M but I hear it's the same price on costco.com, see link above, but you pay for shipping. They had the same deal in B&M a few weeks ago but with a Costco Passport coupon. Now the deal is directly off at the register. No coupon needed.
