My local grocery store has free delivery if I didn't want to carry my stuff home. And from what I saw of prices on Amazon or other delivery services (eg: Soap.com), the prices aren't better than just going to a local RiteAid or grocery store and grabbing the item when it's on sale.

As far as food items go, I'd rather pick out what I'm buying. I like to check the dates, make sure the fruit isn't moldy, pick out a cut of meat I like, etc... I just wish I didn't live in NYC and could own a car again so I wouldn't have to make stupid choices like: buy the 12 pack of toilet paper or buying food items. I'd rather be able to go to a store once a week to pick up what I need all at the same time.

Plus, these services have existed for years: FreshDirect, Peapod... They just didn't have an Amazon logo on them.

But, for steaks? I'm picking them out myself. There's usually quite a bit of variety in the quality of the steaks, depending on whether they're on the rib end, or butt end of the loin. Veggies & Fruit - I'm picking myself, e.g., I want the bananas to be just green enough so that they're not brown when I'm using the last ones, and not so green that I can eat one that day.

While I can see the appeal of this, my OCD ass spends 10 minutes looking for the best lemon, looks at every single fucking package of bacon to find the perfect one with the right balance of fat/meat, etc.

It's somewhat gratifying to just give that responsibility to someone else, and the quality has always been topnotch. And once again, for my area it gives me access to local legit butchers so I don't have to deal with the supermarket shit.

I can't buy a whole side of cow like some of y'all. Or goat.

I like picking and choosing my own meats, produce, and fruits. And I always check the dates on any food item. I don't trust they're going to send me the freshest stock.

Me: "Hey Amazon, this product does not meet my standards - it's almost at the expiration date!"
Amazon: "We're sorry, keep the product and have this $35 voucher as an apology"

I'd use it if it were available in my area. For now, I buy most of my produce and meat at Costco. If I need something nicer than Prime, I'll pick something out at a local butcher, or at Central Market or Whole Foods in a pinch.

w/ Amazon Fresh I can buy my groceries while on the shitter and have everything at my doorstep before I wake up.

My wife actually enjoys shopping I guess.

Having Prime is enough for me personally atm.
