No image stabilization on the kit lens, also 20-50 is a weird range, I already think 18 is too narrow and prefer 16-xxx lenses for APS-C.
20mm on APS-C works out to be about 32mm full frame equivalent. You might have trouble making group shots indoors, but it's doable and 20-50 is a great walk around lens on APS-C sensor. Lack of image stabilization is also a drawback for indoors, but once again, APS-C sensor gives you lots of leeway compared to P&S. And you have to remember, this is only $200, there are P&S that go for this much, but with this camera you're getting a full blown APS-C.
Just about the biggest drawback of this camera, at least for me, is touch interface. Not a fan of those. I have EOS-M and while touch interface on that one is acceptable, I would still very much prefer physical dials simply because they let you control the camera much faster than touch. I really like Fuji X-A1 controls, but it's hard to justify paying $500 for it, and then shell out another $500'ish for fast prime. My EOS-M with 22mm f2.0 prime takes wonderful shots. It has its drawbacks, but I had to make some compromises to fit it into my $300 budget. NX2000 is also a compromise, but at $200 it's a great value if one is looking for APS-C.
