Something about publicly traded company with over 8 billion in revenue makes me skeptical. Can you trust the internet?

I can't find a nonsarcastic way to answer your question

I got a "swell surprise" from them recently. Came home to find a note on my door saying it was a first attempt at delivery from FedEx, and a signature was required. I called FedEx and asked why my signature on file wasn't good enough? "Oh, we don't use that anymore." 😕 I said there would be nobody home to sign, so WTF am I supposed to do now? "Oh, you can pick it up at the hub." Swell, that's only 30 miles from here. Can't I just leave a note for the driver? "No, the shipper requires a signature." :|

I called the place that sold me the item. They said there was nothing they can do, because it was purchased through Amazon, and they required the signature for items over $100.00. Cool beans, eh? Something to think about when ordering from Amazon!
Although it's a pain and it takes time, you can ask FedEx to re-route the package to another address where someone is present to sign off.

They told me they couldn't do that. They said they would have to make three attempts, then it would go back to the sender, and I'd have to work it out with them at that point.
