The first Prime day had a lot of people buying into the hype, but ever since most people see it as the farce it is. Just a bunch of old warehouse items that have been sitting around unwanted for years selling for below average prices. Or at best, actual good deals with quantities so limited, they're sold within seconds. Maybe Prime Day is the first holiday just for bots?

They should stop beating around the bush and give out free Echo Dots to any Prime member who wants one this year.

They're already practically handing them out like party favors as it is.

Amazon's website is allegedly having problems... wonder what Bezos will do to the poor workers?

It's supposed to be the day but they seem to be having issues. On the website, everything I click pretty much takes me back to a page with a banner saying "Shop All Deals", and the mobile app takes me to a page with a dog saying "Something went wrong on our end." I think it was supposed to start at 3pm EST. I'll probably check back in a little while but give up if it's still a mess.

I was able to get in long enough to add a couple things to my cart, then it locked up again.

Same thing happens to me.

Considering that AWS is Amazon's cash cow and he NEEDS those developers and sysadmins, probably nothing more than a strongly worded e-mail. Which will probably get leaked to Reddit :)

Gundam Versus dropped to $15 but every time I kept trying to add it to cart the website crashed. Tried to get a 128gb sandisc card for my Switch, but it kept crashing too and now that deal's gone too. There an officially branded 1st party Nintendo 128gb card for $35, but that's a hair too rich for my blood.

Meh.

bastard. I saw this thread and was hoping it was serious so I could post this exact same video....

By the way, at this point it is 2+ years old from the first time there was Prime day.

I logged onto Amazon to check my order in teh pipeline. No problemos.

But then, I'm no prime member and my order was placed yesterday. Considering I'm not a Prime member, I wish they wouldn't spam me with the Prime Day landing page. Talk about irrelevant.

I think Newegg's trying to cash in though.

Yeah, they give the damn things away when you open a new bank account now. They need to stop pretending that they're still worth $49 retail and lower the normal price to $25. If you're a Prime member? $10, tops. You know that they're making the money on the back-end by selling you shit and data mining your responses for useful information to give to advertisers.
