Yeah... thinking of going from Verizon to Cingular (AT&T Wireless)...

but is there anyway to keep my old number instead of having to thru all the trouble of switching and telling everyone?

Edit: my bad, looks like you can't do it through Amazon, don't know if there is another way.

yes, the number is yours. after you got your new phone from cingular, you can port the number then them from verizon. it will take a few days. make sure are satisfied with the service you get from your new carrier before you do that.
