Amazon seems to have had a very nasty habit of NOT honoring their coupons (or any advertised price for that matter). I applied a coupon to a recent purchase and the confirmation screen showed the correct amount. However, after the order was confirmed, it was as if the coupon never existed. Both the order status and the shipment email quoted the non-discounted price.
And guess where the coupon came from? A few days earlier I tried to order those Yamaha speakers they had for $46 and they emailed me later saying it was out-of-stock. But right after I received that email, I checked on the site and guess what, it was in stock, for $55. So after much complaining to the customer service people they gave me a $10 coupon.
Gee .. see if I ever buy anything from amazon again.

Sorry, I'm just venting and I know this probably belongs in the brag & moan thread, but I thought maybe those of you thinking of taking up on this amazon offer might want to reconsider.

I was thinking of going with this pre-paid nokia 5160i phone with 90 minutes for $99 after the $50 coupon. Is this a good deal? I also can't find on their site how long the 90 minutes are good before they wipe em off. Anyone know if there's a time limit before you lose the minutes.
