"The only one-man showing of Aladdin in the land!"

The Aladdin one is just funny to watch. It's just something you'd never expect.

I guess it takes a certain voicebox to be able to do that. If I try to change my voice from low to high, there's a midrange that I just can't reach. Low....higher, higher....then nothing, then really high, and then it just cuts out.
I used to be able to make a dead-on velociraptor scream, but that ability went away sometime after I turned 19. Now I can do good or passable Cartman, Elmo, Jar-Jar, and Gollum/Smeagol voices. Definitely no Ariel or Jasmine though. I think my best vocalization of something like that would sound closer to Rupaul than Jasmine - one whole new world I don't have any intentions of exploring.

Good god, I wouldn't vote for that. He's an anomaly, doesn't mean he deserves to win.

EDIT: Just watched the Aladdin video, and I am not impressed by his singing with a "boy" voice, and I'm certainly not impressed by a guy who sings like a girl. *shrug*

I sing baritone. I have sung a few tenor parts. I can't imagine any guy being able to do that lol.

He's got a nice voice... but not the kind of voice you want for anything but voice acting. A dude that sounds like a girl is not what any theatre wants... at least not Broadway theatre.

Well if you watch the second video...he can sing with a normal voice. He would probably make a good tenor with some training.

First things first, he has to stop singing through his nose :p

Well, there are a lot of things that would help him, but he's got a good natural voice...I'm curious as to why he's in a professional studio though. I wonder if he's recorded before.

Right which is why he needs training. But the natrual ability is there. And I guess it was for some contest.

But getting access to what appears to be a professional studio is not that hard. I knew a guy who got to use one...was just a basic studio but had the right equipment. He wasn't any good but you can rent those places usually.
