Not to get too political, but here is a video of Gen. Colin Powell on "Meet the Press" yesterday.

Towards the end, he gets quite emotional referring to a photo...

Here is the slideshow.

The specific photo is photo #16.

If nothing else, the B&W photography is amazing.

Photographers/Photoshop artists: Any guesses on equipment/techniques?

Great pictures, I liked the first two, but the rest, meh. There is a tremendous pathos appeal, but I didn't find the photography itself that striking.

Some of the perspective is off in some of those photos, maybe done for effect?

Photo 18 makes the woman look like she has hands the size of her head.

Yeah its purposefully done that way. Also, the photographer distorted the images through off angle shots, BW, high contrasts, no background, a tendency towards misfitting or irregular fitted clothes. I'm sure there are more examples....

the wierd perspective images were taken with an extreme wideangle lens, but not fisheye. others are typical portraits (short telephoto). the cemetery shots were probably taken at night, using flash photography to illuminate the foreground subject only, leaving the background totally black; or extensive Photoshop to get the same effect.
