Amazing. My phone lives.

A month ago, my phone went swimming with me. It's a sony w810i. Half the keys stopped working as well as the power button. Dried everything out the best I could but didn't help. Well today, I accidently leave the phone in the hot car and to my amazement, the phone fully works again as well as the camera that hasn't worked in over 1 1/2 yrs. Can't belive it.

Anyone else have this happen?

I've had the same thing (clip popped and it went for a dunk in the Pacific Ocean). Battery was ruined, but despite the fact that I had taken it apart and let it dry for weeks, it didn't work until months later when the thing just started vibrating on the counter.

What truly amazed me was a Moto RAZR V3 that got caught in a recliner and snapped in half. The only thing holding it together was the keypad membrane and yet it still worked great for many months, provided that you held the battery in. A plastic outer shell restored near 100% usefulness except for the "5" key (metal key folded out).

Sometimes a phone will work again after a dunking. They need to be cleaned with clean water or isopropyl alcohol and then left to dry for days before attempting to use them again. As to your Razr, you can buy just the keypad if you still need or want it. I am surprised it did not sustain more damage after being caught in a recliner chair.

Took my month old Blackberry Pearl swimming.

I took it apart and let it sit overnight. Works great!

I dropped my LG VX8700 in my cat's water bowl but recovered it after about two seconds. I immediately powered down the phone and removed the battery and let them dry for a few hours. A friend of the family recommended putting it in a container of rice for a few days, so I put it in a membrane-sealed rice container for 2 days and it worked fine after that.
