i have been researching ham radios. i am part of the superior search and rescue team and want to find a good ham for my truck. at least 70 cm and 2m bands, but the more the better, im getting my license over the summer, going to go for a technicns for now. any info on radios or what stuff you may have, or what you suggest would be great. thanks.
 
You might consider the Kenwood TM-D700A.

Has APRS, when used in conjunction with a GPS broadcasts your precise position. Nice toy. I have one.
