Right now Amare's winning the battle. ;) 13 points, 8 boards, to 6 and 4 for Yao.

As long as the Rockets win, I'll be happy.

I really don't think Yao cares much whether he gets Rookie of the Year.

After all, he will be an all-star. That's bigger than ROY. I think he is really looking forward to friday and going against Shaq.

i don't knwo about that one.. Aceshigh you can be a ROY only once, where as you can become an all star for rest of your career.
but if yer the leading vote getter for all star game as a rook, i'd say one has a very good chance to get the ROY honors too.
Amare is freakin amazing to watch tho.. the kid ii

I swear when I saw the thread title, I thought you were talking about Pokeman cards or something. I was like "I know he's too old to play w/Pokeman cards...wth?

Yao is only an all-star because people in China are allowed to vote for the All-Star game online and the votes count.

Not exactly the case, china only accounted for 10% (or even lower I remember reading an article) of the nba.com vote and even if you took their votes out, Yao's 1 million - 100,000 (900,000) vs Shaq's 700,000 he would still be in the lead by 200,000.
