I'm take Amare. for now

Lebron's shooting percentage is deceiving in that he dunks and does lay ups alot. As a guard he expected to shoot outside better. His midrange is terrible. When they play against a team with a legitimate big man that forces him to take mid range shots he does poorly.

maybe another year James will get better with the midrange shots

Amare can't do anything without Steve Nash.

Lebron plays the forward position.

And play poorly? He rarely plays poorly, even against the likes of Miami and such.

Lebron is the best player in the game right now.

well okay forward, he moved over from last year's pg/sg and hs. I didn't say he plays poorly. I said he does poorly when forced to take jumpers.

11/4 game vs. miami 21pts. 9-22 overall. 3-12 jumpshots

2/3 game vs. miami 31 pts. 11-23overall. 7-16 jumpshots. <-near 50% excellent.

so-so right. shaq big body possibly running at him might throw him off a bit.

how about against teams with no big man.
11/21 vs. the knicks. 13 pts. 5-15 overall. 2-8 jump shots.

LeBron is better at 20 than jordan was.

bullshit

Most analysts agree. At 20, Jordan also had no jumpshot. He was a sophomore at North Carolina. Lebron is excelling in the NBA, against the cream of the crop of college and high school players.

I think most would agree that at 20, Lebron is superior to Jordan at 20. Will he have a better career? Probably not scoring wise, but in every other aspect, possibly.

how so? at 20 lebron is an nba all-star starter and jordan was still in college. he didn't say lebron was better than jordan, just at 20. i don't quite think lebron will be the next jordan though.

Even Pippen agrees, but I'd bet Jordan at 20 would beat Lebron at 20 in 1 on 1 ninety percent of the time. 🙂

Lebron will never be considered better than MJ when its all said and done imo because he doesn't have MJ's freakish desire to win coupled with MJ's endurance of a world class track athlete allowing him to play both ends of the court all 4 quarters.

He can score, pass, rebound, play defense and will be great imo for his leadership and 'package', but he will never score like MJ or pass like Magic or rebound like Bird.

Whether or not he wins championships like MJ will depend on how good his teammates are, ie how soon it will be until he plays beside another future hall of famer. Because of his talent and unselfishness, the Cavs will probably be a magnet for free agents tho, so it may not be long.

If you look at the stats, Lebron's is comparable to Jordan, even though Jordan was a year older in his first year. Lebron is amazing at 20, because he does everything, he has really improved his shooting over his first year, and everything else increased as well. At the same time, cavs have greatly improved over the last two years, which is no doubt mostly due to his playing.
