So who would you rather have?

Amare has a good point guard to feed him the ball, and he wasnt the turn around of the team.

James has very little help, he has lesser known players, yet has turned the cavs around just by being on the team.

Lebron > *

He raises the play of everyone around him and has such a good feel for the game and is a commander of his team. Amare is just an exceptional athlete playing on a team that favors his style of play.

Amare might have a better box score, but Lebron brings something to his team that stats can't show.

Edit - Lebron is actually more of a PG who can also play SF.

Who doesn't know that? 🙂 Lebron is so much more like Kidd in that he makes his team better, of course plus his ability to score. Point is, Amare may be the next best big man next to Shaq.

This season, he's been playing much more exclusively at the C position, but he also does play PF.

I don't think I've ever seen Amare get stuffed, he's 6-10, Lebron 6-8. Amare has twice the blocked shots/game % as Lebron (Amare has longer arms).

 
Lebron: 25 PPG, 7.2 APG, 2.3 Steals, 1 block, 7 rebounds, 50% FG, 3.5 turnovers
Amare: 26 PPG, 1.6 APG, 1.0 steals, 1.7 blocks, 8.6 rebounds, 59% FG, 2.5 turnovers

i dunno about you but even on stats alone i'd take Lebron.

Take Lebron off the Cav's and not only are they not a winning team, they're just downright awful. Take Amare off the Suns, and they wont be the high flying suns they are now, but there's still a lot of talent on that team.
 
Lebron because he makes everyone around him better.
Amare is doing exceptional right now because of the players around him like Nash, Q, Marion. If he was on say..the Warriors. he'd be doing well but not exceptional, and the Warriors would still be losing.

I'd take lebron james. But it might depend on which team.
 
Amare is so good this year cause he has one of the best pg in the game feeding him the ball. Lebron is so good cause he is the next mj. Ill take lebron.
