AM2 - When is anything available?

I see they pushed up their launch... But what does that mean in terms of when I can buy parts? (newegg in particular)

I know I know.. Conroe rules all... But Conroe isnt out yet. If its really that great then Ill just upgrade again... AM2 for now.

anyways, when I can buy this stuff....

My guess would be early June.
Give it about 2 weeks after the launch for product to be in the channel.
Correct me if I am wrong on that.

Only thing that is not available is the AM2 Square and Mobo's with the exception of ASRock which has 2 that are AM2 ready with the purchase of their adapter...other than that everything is available...

There are rumors floating around that the AMD is developing reverse Hyper-Threading which will mean that the AM2 will be king of the Single Core CPU? 😀

Reverse hyper-threading won't be happening for years - intel seems to be further along in the research and haven't come close to achieving it yet. But then again, I guess we'll see in a month or so.

Well I didnt want this turn into a "amd's answer to Conroe" thread, but another reason I like AM2 is AMD and Intel will ALWAYS have an answer for each other....

Amd answered the P4 with the XP, and took a big lead with the A64.. Intel is taking it back with Conroe... Expect 6 months after that for AMD to have answer, then Intel, then AMD, you get the idea... Its competition, and its great for the consumer.

The funny thing is... Five years down the line we won't even remember what the heck the Conroe is or why we were so excited, because both company's products will be so much advanced by then.
