Maybe this ram would go well with it?

I just bought that RAM for my conroe system and it's great. Sucks you missed the rebates. I wouldn't recommend OCZ just incase you wanna switch to conroe at some point, a few of the motherboards haven't liked OCZ. I can't really speak on the motherboards, but I had a DFI nForce3 250Gb and it's treated me right.

I just read the reviews on the Patriot memory and apparently it's amazing for overclocking!

Guess I need a good overclocking motherboard, any suggestions?
Edit: the DFI appears to be a good overclocker🙂

Nah I won't get OCZ just because of all the compatibility issues I hear about

Yeah, man I have been watching this saga unfold for what seems like forever 😛

Hopefully it all goes smoothly once you finally get the parts.

Cheers, KT

I know, I feel kind of bad whoring up the forums but the longer I'm forced to wait I feel like I might as well get the best my money can buy

Here's my new set up - I have 2 questions
1. Judging from the reviews both the ram and the motherboard are great overclockers, but the motherboards DDR2 standard is 667
Would I be able to overclock the ram past 667 on this motherboard?

2. I'm going to upgrade to a DX10 card in 1-2 years, would this PSU be able to power a mid-range DX10 card or should I just buy a fortron 450w and upgrade my PSU and video card later

I do not know a tonne about the DX10 cards right now, but I am quite sure that PSU should be able to handle a mid-range card when the time comes.

Alright, thanks
Any input on question 1?

Looks like it should not be a problem according to this site: Read this

Although that's what the motherboard says, it handles DDR2 800 just fine (that's what I'm running) - it has a setting in the BIOS. Also, if you overclock, it will calculate and show you your new DDR #, so you can go well over 1000 if you want.

This motherboard is a great overclocker - I have my 3800 with OCZ platinum DDR2 800 overclocked to 2.6G with the stock HSF. Highly recommend it. Plus, if you can't boot because of the overclock settings, just hold the Home key down while repowering it, and it will auto reset *only* the FSB setting. Very very nice.
