Does anyone know of an AM2 board that supports both DDR and DDR2? My DDR500 RAM was $180 and I'm not looking to just dump it after two months.

Not that I know of, one of the purposes of am2 was to move away from ddr and only produce ddr2 (and eventually ddr3) making costs lower for the memory companies. Making them compatible with ddr would be counterproductive. Also, If they were compatible with ddr, that means people like you could use their existing memory and not buy new RAM... that's not right?!!!!;)

They showed some at Computex but none have been available in retail yet, I think. I would give you a link but I've no clue which website carried it (I looked through all the Computex coverage at the same time...got lost).

Probably MADShrimps or The Tech Report. Or one of the other dozen websites. I'll try and look.

Edit: I think I might be talking of some Conroe Motherboards. Err..ignore my post.

BTW, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with your Opteron 165 @ 2.6GHz. It's actually faster than an AM2 5000+ @ 2.6GHz that has half the L2 Cache.
