Couple thoughts that come to mind:

1. That case is kinda cheap. Plastic over steel

2. I could be wrong but I believe the 6800GS is better than the 6800XT. I would go for the GS if I am correct on that detail. Get this with the money you will save with my future suggestions

3. Why such a high end proc and a fairly low end GFX card? Especially since your focus is gaming. Get something like this

4. Why such high end ram? Are you overclocking? The timings are pretty bad for what you are paying for. Try this

Went for the CPU because end of July, prices are gonna fall like crazy (As everyone knows). And Since I am on a budget, The GFX will be good for a little while. The GS is like $90 more right? And I actually like the case, it's gotten pretty good reviews, and its only $80 plus a $20.00 Mail In Rebate. The Tsunami (Which Ive wanted for a long time) is roughly $120 right? I just got my paycheck today, and have it barely budegeted to buy the Keyboard, Case and PSU this weekend. So I cant really change any of those. And yes, RAM is crucial (not the brand :p) I probably will be overclocking, I need all the performance I can handle, cause I plan to do ALOT with this comp. I multi task like crazy, and alot of apps I use eat resources like crazy.

ty for actually commenting ^_^

P.S. Which case would you suggest?

And I was looking heavily at that processor, but in about amonth, the 4600+ is gonna be about the same price. =/

And I will be OCing the ram, see if I cant get it down to 4-5-5-10. And I'll get the newer DDR2 once its available. And alot of new stuff and price changes could occur between now and the end of the summer, so that isnt final. IM Saving my money for the CPU and Vid Card for the LAST things I buy. Besides the mouse of course, I have a perfectly fine one for non-gaming right now (MX 1000)

many things wrong:
- bad case, tt= crap bad quality, loud fans, bad cooling
- bad psu, look into seasonic enermax pcpc, or fsp
-for gaming, get a better balance of cpu/gpu, a decent balance would be.. same price range. for example $300 cpu = $300 gpu

Check the Edit. And Gskill runs pretty hot and loud, so would you really get that over OCZ? You obviously know more than me.

Rosewill isn't actually a bad PSU brand. Its neweggs in house brand. I think they are made by one of the major PS manufacturers

Ram that runs loud?

Gskill gets good reviews and with the money you save you can get a graphics card that will keep you happy for more than one year. The CPU is not going to go down 300 dollars in 2 months. I promise you that.

I also thought Rosewill was pretty good, but should I get this?

Cons: The first set I received had a bad chip..but NewEggs fast RMA worked out. Second set works great, but NOISY!!!

Thats a review from newegg.

And how about a compromosie on the CPU? =D

In between, and for only $50 more, I can OC that bad boy to the 5000+ (Hopefully)

And can someone give me a last minute suggestion for a case? I have personal friends that own TT cases, and are thrilled. From what I hear not bad. I guess steel would be better though. =(

Get an X2 3800+ instead of the 4600+ and overclock it beyond 4600+ speeds, and get an X1800XT 512mb . If you get the ATI, you can save the money on the SLI and get a regular board.

Personally have Loved ATI my whole life, but seriously, ATM nVidia has the edge, I'd rather go with them. Plus I can just SLI later down the road, once I get some more money. (Which is gonna take a while, Im only 14) =/

Updated original wishlist, put Gskill, 4200+ CPU, and the BFG Vid Card. Jesus this is getting expensive though =/

Thanks for all your help! this is the liveliest bunch of hardware-saavy ppl I've ever seen at 3AM =)

BTW Did I do good with the hard drives? I may just get 1 to cut off $100 =(

If you're planning on overclocking, i'd strongly suggest the x2 3800+ (you can overclock beyond 4200+/4600+ speeds, and the 4200+ or 4600+ wouldn't get much further), and a 7900gt (or x1800xt), you've currently got the 7800gt listed at the time of this post, and it's outdated and more expensive (i think) than the two i suggested.

For the PSU, i'd agree with LOUISSSSS's suggestions, or go for the 500W enhance PSU @ ewiz (i cant remember the model number) that's around the $70US mark.

As for the case, i'd take a look at the CM Wavemaster 2/Mystique (choice of cases is subjective, but you might like the wm2/mystique).

I would agree with the suggestions of going with the 3800+ and 7900gt, which can be found for $240 @newegg. The enhance model is the 5150g I believe. The 80+ version of this psu is the 5150gh, both within $5 of each other. The mistique is a little more expenisive that then wm2, I'd go with a lian li pc-7 plus II! :D

Nvidia doesnt have an edge. The only edge they have is that their multi-GPU system is used more then ATI because people cry about the crossfire cables. but infact they arent even a problem. ATI currently has faster GPUs, the X1900 XTX in most cases beats the 7900 GTX

i have to warn you that g.skill might NOT be compatible with the am2 motherboards so i strongly suggest you to read the motherboard's manual to see the qualifed list of memory sticks.

Something to consider, wth DDR2-533, the AM2 platform can't pull away from the s939 platform. It needs DDR2-800 to let it pull ahead. Xbit has details in theri AM2 article. If you're on a tight budget, the DDR2-533 will work, its just going to be your bottle neck.

And I agree with the other's video card suggestions, a Radeon X1900XTX@370 is a steal.

That Gskill is only DDR2-533?? Thats why I was gonna get the OCZ, it is DDR2-800

And I can't afford $370 for an ATI. The card doesnt need to be best of the best. Im looking at the 7900GT but nmot sure which to go with.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi...1+1067920129&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=48

BFG or XFX? eVGA? Which specific card? (Under $300)

And Ive been looking at those cases (All of coolermaster as a matter of fact) and cant find one Im looking for. I need a big side panel window, good front intake fans, and it needs to be black. Doesnt neciseerialy need to be from Coolermaster, but can someone please give me a suggestion??

Well Im not buying all of these at the same time, so I wont have the motehrboard before the I get the RAM, thats why I need to make sure they're compatible before I order it.

And people keep telling me to change PSUs, but then someone said Rosewill is good (Like they have been in the past.) So which should I go with? That 500W Seasonic?

Thanks for feedback.

And to tell you the truth, Im moving up from a Gateway 2000 built for Windows ME, not a Socket 939, so it doesnt need to outperform a 939 with simlar hardware, just needs to be a futureproof comp =)

i didnt see a video card, but i think a 7600GT would be perfect for you. if the price is too high, get a 6800GS, but a 6600GT is the bare minimum.

You dont see the 7900GTs? And actually, I will take their advice, I need a good video card, and those are some damn good prices =)
Oh, and Im not sure if it matters but I have a DVI-Capable (Obviously) 19" LCD. I want to run BF2 at *good* settings, but they dont have to be the best

Still looking for cases, I found this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811146025

It's a new product, has no reviews, and Ive never heard of the Company. Anyone?

The case looks like yet another cheap rebrand of the same old generic gamer poo. It's a case, what more do you want ;)

The eVGA card is good because the 7900GT range have, for the most part, a ****** little cooler that's rather noisy. eVGA means you can swap that out later for a vf700 or 900 or other cooler if you feel like it.

The proc is now good. You say you can't afford a $380 ATI card and yet you could afford a over $500 processor when you had that in the list .

If you want to stick with the $280 or so Nvidia gfx card suggested above, then you would have some money left over to get your OCZ ram and possibly the Seasonic PS. However, know that you are going to get a MUCH larger increase in gaming performance by using that $50 towards a graphics card and not towards the ram. The max an AM2 platform "pulls away" from a 939 platform is by about 6%. However, in most tests, the perform pretty much identically. But, like was said above. Visit the forums for asus and make sure whatever brand of ram you buy works well in Asus boards.

It really looks like your going to have a pretty good system kickin! Someone made mention of your case choice and I really don't think that your going to like the one that you have picked out! I have seen it at Micro Center and it's cheap looking to me. My buddy has the Wave Master and that one is sweet but it's all aluminum and it was like 250 bones. I have built many computers and I have finally found a case worth more than you'll end up spending on it. the Cooler Master Centurion 5 is nice becuae it's cheap and it looks good! The front bezel is aluminum and steel. You can get it in Red and Blue. If you cool with spending and extra 5 bucks then you can get the one with the window.. It looks like quality and it has a good tooless, quiet fans, blue LEDs and front panel firewire. The only thing i didn't like was the tooless fastener for the 3.5 bays. which i just took out and used a screw. I kinda wish it had the 2 3.5 openings but i got around that as well. :)
