AM2+ boards ???

Hey mobo forum readers.....

I'm already running a q6600, and e2140 all OC'd up, but......

What would be a good AM2(+) mobo to pair with these new AMD chips????

I don't care if Intel is faster, I already have two, and just want to play 😀.

Also, what speed DDR2 do we need to have some fun?? DDR2-800, is fine for Intel, but I'm unaware of the bus speeds on the new AMD stuff.

Thanks -Jim 🙂

you mean, a mobo to go with the Phenom ?

"GIGABYTE GA-MA790FX-DS5 AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail"

not a lot of them, Phenom compatible m'boards. i wonder if the
Gigabyte is 100% glitch free.

I think the only AM2+ motherboards that are out have the AMD 790X and 790FX chipsets on them. Supposely Nvidia are releasing their new nforce 7 chipsets for am2+ motherboards next month. I'm waiting for a non-sli motherboard to come out that around $100. Then read bunch of different reviews how the different chipsets and motherboards compare to each other. Would like to find one that has alot of the same features my current asus m2n-E (nforce 5 570 ultra).

I'm also waiting for motherboards based off the AMD 770 chipset to arrive. AMD's site already lists several 770 motherboards from different manufacturers, but nothing is out yet. I'm planning on upgrading after the year's end, and want to make sure to get a board that fully supports AM2+.

This is the first time I've read anything about nVidia releasing nforce 7, but then again I don't keep up to date with hardware as much as I use to. I've always been a fan on the nforce chipsets, so I'll definitely have to keep my eye out.
