AM radio station issue

Previous car radios got a local AM station just fine. The one in question gets a ton of static on this one station but all other AM and FM are fine. Any ideas on a fix?
 
may want to try a ham radio forum? not sure if anyone here will be able to help with this. you could try putting a choke on the power to the radio.

does it have noise when the car is running and when it is not running?
 
I'm researching different kinds of tint for my new car. One of the things brought up was that metallic tint causes interference with electronics especially AM station radio.
 
Depending on the importance of that station the easiest thing to do is go aftermarket. Most small stereo shops are hurting for business so deals are out there. If your a DIYer then its even cheaper.

Is the stock radio /cd crap otherwise?

That would only effect it if the antenna was in the window with the tint on it... If you have an external antenna tinting doesn't effect it at all.

Drill +Hole Saw + New External Antenna = WIN. The antennas that are embedded in the glass suck.

They also make signal boosters for AM and FM antenna signals. Connects inline with the antenna wire and needs 12 VDC power.

I have to be honest, 'DIY' for me is setting the station presets.

I hate to replace it for one station, but ya, it's the 'important' one, local progressive.
