DirecTV has a 9 minute preview of Ratatouie on their DVR receivers right now and we just watched it 3 times. Even on the little 20" SDTV we were watching it on with DirecTV's infamous compression, it looked gorgeous - the details, colors, style, etc. Pixar is the only company I know of where their films still look amazing in SD.

Can't wait to see it in the theaters.

Though I don't know who you are praising...

Direct TV, The SDTV, or Pixar. But I guess it came out to be one heck of a value combo!

I can't wait 'til all of the Pixar and Miyazaki films come out on blu-ray in high-bitrate 1080p.

I might finally buy some blu discs instead of just renting from Netflix :)

Watch the movement of Remy's hair while he's underwater. They've gone waaaay beyond the hair they put on Sully in Monsters Inc.

I applaud Pixar for really being the only computer animation studio making films that don't rely primarily on pop-culture references and poop jokes. They actually make intelligent movies for kids, which is far too rare these days.

Plus the animation is way cool, and this is a Brad Bird movie.

And why don't you sit back...releax...and get some reading comprehension. It was clearly understood who/what he was praising.

I don't believe they are quite "folded back into Disney". I think Disney just does the distribution\promotion but doesn't do anything with the production.
