I bought a DELL 18.1" Ultrasharp LCD monitor and as soon as I hooked it up it had dead pixels. They are replacing it for me, should I have just kept it?

How many dead pixels? Normally 1-2 aint that bad, but if it was like 10 or something, you have a right to be b!tching.

it was deffective, you were right to have it replaced

It had 4-6 various colored pixels that were noticable while using the computer
