Am I weird?

I always pick a random number of seconds to heat food in a microwave (within a certain range) instead of the usual 0:30, 1:00, 2:00, etc

BTW, I also love the movie Romeo & Juliet.

if you have to ask, then....

However if you're purposefully avoiding :30 intervals, then you're not being random. :p;

What did :30 ever do to you?

Sometimes I do pick :30 intervals.

Yes

I have to enter something starting with 4 or greater on my microwave.
The 1, 2, 3 buttons don't work :)

I do this too. I also set my alarm in the morning at a random time. Instead of 9:30, i set it for 9:27 or 9:32.

I also keep my alarm clock an arbitrary amount fast to fool myself into getting out of bed since i have not idea how fast it is, therefore i have to get out of bed to avoid being late.

I accomplish setting it fast by a random amount of time by telling my roomate to do it for me while im not home. I make it a point not to look at another clock to figure it out. How's that for weird? :)

I enter random when I am drunk. Whatever number my finger was on is what I push.

that wouldn't work for me, because I'd eventually look at other clocks guaranteed to be right (cell phone... and computer, of which I have my computer set to grab time from a navy time server somewhat nearby). I do have my watch set some 3-4 minutes early, and I typically forget exactly how far ahead it is but know its slightly ahead, so it helps... i'm late for almost everything though. I waste too much time at home before leaving. part of my procrastination problem, that I've been suggested all ties in with ADD. Going through major strides to change and turn some of those things around though, starting next quarter. :p but seriously, i tried this quarter and apparently failed miserably at those goals. But in doing so, I realized where I screwed up and should be able to keep on track next quarter and do well. I am a person that needs schedules and set times to get things done, so I gotta make those schedules. All comes down to, I have horrible time management skills and that is what needs to change first before anything else can happen. Right now I basically don't manage time, but I know how to change that.

I hate microwave ovens with buttons. Give me a dial, so much simpler and quicker to dial in my desired time then to punch buttons. I especially like the digital dials.

ech. give me buttons!
my dorm fridge/microwave unit last year had a dial. I hated the damn thing, impossible to narrow in a time, and it was weak.

This year, a powerful digital microwave in our kitchen. So happy.

how come you can enter 99 seconds, but once you hit 100 it only goes for 2/3 that time?!

If I'm setting a timer on a microwave I never set it for a common length of time... if it should be in there for a minute I'll set it to 56 seconds etc

I also do this with my snooze timer on the alarm clock, instead of 10 minutes I'll set it to 12 for no particular reason

I do this for a lot of things and for no particular reason.. I don't consider myself weird because of it
