I suggest abandoning the PowMax brand and get yourself an Enermax, Fortron, Sparkle Power or Antec. These are some brands that have earned good solid reputations around here.

I had a "400W" powermax, very very generic power supply, it could even run my system at default speeds, let alone any overclocking. I'd definatly go with one of the brands that Mech recomended.

uggh..i needed a psu and was ordering multi parts and to lower shipping just added the above power supply in link...maybe i might get lucky with the 480 version of powmax.... but if not i will just send it back and get one of the suggested ones.....

but will 400w or the 480 be suffiecent to run my system below? i know it is working now with no major issues( except overclocking) but dont want it to all of a sudden pop on me because of using to much power.

A high-quality 300W unit could power the rig in your signature, it's the quality (or lack of it) that I think is the issue here.

more watts != better

quality over quantity. id rather have a 300 watt antec over a 600 watt powmax.

thanks.....guess i will have to either send the new powmax back and get something else...thanks for the input....guess my real concern was having enough power to overclock and support my system.... so from what i gathered a 350w would be good enough to supply my system and overclock?

also i will soon be getting a 9600pro to add the hardware comsumption.
