Am I tired, or does this make no sense?

I was on ebay Ebay and I come across one auction that gives a rundown of how many images can be held on a compact flash card at different sizes, it looked something like this:

number of photos for 3MP camera*: 400
number of photos for 5MP camera*: 200

The asterisks spark my attention and look down to see the following:

* photo quality pictures

Now, I've been awake way too long today and I stared at this statement for about 10 minutes (possibly more, I think I may have blacked out) and I'm simply trying to figure out whether it is I or the seller who is out of his/her mind. Any help would be appreciated.

Makes sense to me. * probably means medium compression.

I was under the impression that the higher the resolution, the higher the quality of digital images(pixelation) thus less picture capacity then the above would hold true. The other variables of course are size of card, setting selected on camera( resolution), my camera has 4 modes for picture quality and currently on my 256 meg card, 4 megapixel camera I have close to 300 pictures on it.

Since 5MP is better and larger resolution than 3 mp that means that only 200 pics can be stored on the Compact Flash for 5mp because they are of a higher resolution=bigger/better quality pics=less room.
