Am I the only person who hates Metroid Prime?

I got it for Christmas and I really tried to get into it. At first the graphics and atmosphere is great, but then the constant backtracking and not knowing where I'm going or why I'm going there starts to get under my skin. The game doesn't seem to have any direction. I don't want to go back and forth through the same room 80 times, killing the same enemies every time I go back through. That's not fun, it's tedious. I'm selling it.

So am I the only one? Cause it seems like everyone thinks it's the greatest game ever.

Darn. Seems at the tender old age of 21 I have outgrown video games, console games anyway. The only games that can hold my attention anymore are sports games and multiplayer FPS.

I don't have an Xbox

I think it's one of the best games I've ever played.

Now if you can only outgrow crawling into bed with Mommy and Daddy at night you may be well on your way to adulthood

I like the game but I can't deal with the friggin' retarded GameCube controller!

Bah! Worst. hardware. ever.

The button layout is just plain clunky and stupid, and I hate the feel of the analog sticks. It was hard to think how controllers could get worse than the N64's. I guess Nintendo sure showed me.

I hated the N64 controllers (except w/ fps), but I love the Gamecube controllers. My favorites are still PS2 dual shocks.

Yeah, it doesn't seem all too special, besides the fact that it's metroid. That running through a giant hub and sub levels shyt is getting boring.

Now that just doesn't even make sense.

Heck I bought a GC just to play that game... to me it was a let down... First of all I didnt like the controls, way way bad IMHO. Then the constant back tracking and general slow pace of the game made me forget I even had it sometimes... especially w/ so many great games out around that time (AoM, Splinter Cell, Mechassult (Live), UT @k3, and now Sim City 4...) I recently gave the game away as a present. The only good thing, I guess, is that now I have a GC and am ready for Zelda and MARIO KART (if it ever freakin comes out...).

btw, I do have an xbox and a mighty, IMHO, nice PC to enjoy many other games... I guess to me Metroid just got old really fast.

Yes you are... I haven't played it that much though, so I honestly can't tell you what I really think of it.
