Am I the only person who hated Myst (& sequals)?

I for one, thought that they are some of the most boring, pointless games in existence. Anyone who bought them? SHEEP! BAHHHh! (just kidding, but i still think they blew chunks)

I loved them both... Hundreds of hours of gameplay, and challenging (yet sometimes, ok always, pointless) puzzles 🙂

I had a friend that tried to convince me how awesome myst was and how it kicked ass. The very second I played it and found out it was a damn slideshow, i immediatly removed it.

ok, if you want action and shooting and destroying stuff this game is not for you. I think people hate Myst because they can't solve it. It is a difficult game but absorbing too.

I agree... 7th Guest was a great game... I thought Myst was garbage though...

Heh-heh. FPS games are for people who like using their brains as relays between their hands and eyes. Myst/Riven, Zork Nemesis, 7th Guest and others like them are for people who like to exercise the brain itself. And I've always found the puzzles in Myst and Riven to be at least subtly related to the story line in a logical way.

I liked Myst but found Riven too damn hard and random, though it was beautiful. I may pick up Exile sometime after I catch up on all the other games I've got.
