It appeals to pretty much everyone that has ever used ATOT. It's hard to imagine someone not liking it and posting here.

Agreed, unless you are a book reading asshole, then you should go elsewhere.

Season 5 and most of season 4 have been really weak.

The series was really good until season 4 episode 3.

I read the first book and watched the first season but I just couldn't get into it. I don't mind a complex story but it's really hard to get invested in the characters. Especially since Martin keeps killing them off. It's like a bloody daytime soap except with a lot more gore and nudity.

The only remotely interesting characters are Danny and Tyrion. I expect they'll get killed off sometime next season. I get the feeling that Martin has no end game planned as is just making things up as he goes along.

I've been meaning to start it. Good night shift material to keep me busy. :p

I try to avoid and ignore spoilers but given I did not even start it yet it's not that much of an issue as I wont really know what anyone is talking about and I'm terrible with names IRL, let alone fictitious stuff.

Saw the first two seasons when a local channel showed them. Seen none since I don't have HBO, but I keep up with the show because every news site likes to write recaps after a new episode.

... and not planning to watch it any time soon? Seriously.. is it really that good? I pretty much know who died etc cuz of GoT fanatics boasting it on the internet, it's kinda hard not to miss since everywhere I browse it's freaking GoT! Then again, I will most likely to forget the names or the person who died and whatnot.

Who here has never seen GoT and most likely never going to watch it? I swear it feels like I'm the only human being who *dislike* GoT. Pls stop this over hyped train.. :D

Off topic - Is it REALLY that guuuuud? Like for reals? Wtf.. D:
I've heard theirs loads of sex scenes better than Fifhty Shades of Grey (6/10 I read the book don't hate)? If yes then why are kids age 13 and younger enjoying GoT? Wtf? I swear every primary kid seen GoT!!!! Is this real life?

Any parent who lets their children watch GoT needs their head read!...As for worth it?, well I have read the books and the TV show and have to say its one of the best TV series ever!

You are not alone. I rarely watch TV unless it's music related or sports related. I have zero interest in all of these shows that everyone and their child are talking about these days.

I think Mad men is crap. I have no desire to see mad men. GoT is a different story.

I haven't seen any or really care to at this point either. Though once it is concluded I may consider going back and watching. Did the same thing with BSG, Breaking Bad, Lost, and a few other shows.

Never watched it, only thing I know about it is some hot woman used to get naked often and now she refuses to get naked.

I was going to respond about GoT until I read this. If that's your standard for literature then may I suggest getting your fill through the absolute tonne of fanfiction available on the Internet.

Not as good as Breaking Bad in some ways but one of the best TV shows ever made nonetheless.

no and no

I'm sure I would like it, but I don't want to waste 50+ hours of my life on it.

I've never seen it, and it's not really on my to-do list. I do like fantasy stuff, but this seems like it's more about political intrigue and character interaction... as mentioned above, the whole gory soap opera thing. Sure, it sounds like it's probably well done, but the concept/premise just don't appeal to me.

It's a waste of time, all the good characters die and all the crapheads live on. People in that world don't know how to deal with tyrants at all. Except the old lady that poisoned the punk.

Good characters alive and kicking: Arya, Sandor (probably), Tyrion, Olenna Tyrell, Varys, Bronn, Jamie, Jaqen H'ghar and others.

The interactions between Sandor/Arya, Jaqen/Arya, Varys/Tyion, Bronn/Jamie and Olenna/Anybody have been the best part of the show.

The only 2 dead characters that I really miss are Tywin and Oberyn Martell.

Yeah it's funny; rare that I try and force people to watch anything, but I actually FedExed the first three seasons on Blu-ray to my family last year, even though it is not typically a genre any of them would like, and they are all now hooked. To the point where I did not even open season 4, I just took the Amazon package and shipped it out to them so they were at least caught up.

In so many ways it is just a soap opera, like most dramas on TV I guess, but it's impressive in scope and scale in a way that you do not really see on television, even though TV is, seemingly, the dominant medium these days.

KT

I still can't believe you're such a fan :hmm:

I don't have HBO and have been contemplating buying the series through Amazon Prime. Is Season 1 worth the $25 and each season after worth $30? Over $100 for a show?
