Who doesn't really despise any certain genre of music? I like Iron Maiden and AC/DC, I also like Tha Dogg Pound, Tupac and Mobb deep. I'll listen to GnR, and then listen to Wham! or New Order. I bought Kanye West's album, I also have albums from U2, Soundgarden, and Madonna (bye bye man card). I'll even listen to Electronica and trance when I feel like it. 80s, Alternative, Rock, Rap, Hip Hop, R&B, I enjoy it all, maybe I am a weirdo.

I like rap, rock, and a some techno alternative stuff, and even some blues. The only thing i don't really like is country.

I'm the same way. I listen to just about everything, except for country.
 
lol, we're opposites. Not only do I listen to metal, but I only listen to four or so heavy metal bands.

EDIT: Actually, fast jazz is nice as well.
 
I probably have one of the broadest taste in music:

1. Was really into Japanese Pop and regular bubble gum American pop as a teen
2. Always love movie scores, which led to Classical
3. Alice Deejay as a gateway, I fell in serious love with Trance/Electronica
4. Love jazzy stuff, Diana Krall, etc.
5. Always loved guitar-music. Started from poppy punk (green day), alanis, to harder stuff like Bush, System of a Down, etc.
6. Picked up electric guitar, which opened the way to classic rock (GnR, Ozzy, etc) and fast-churning metal like Metallica.
7. I now love dark, adrenaline pumping death metal. Opeth being my favorite, who are done tastefully in progressive manner.
8. Always loved video game scores- Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, even StarCraft, Warcraft stuff.

9. Oh yea, I love R&B & 90s Hip Hop. The glory days of Tupac and Biggie.
 
I like a lot of different stuff, but most commonly rock, 80s "new wave", smooth jazz, electronic music of various types (trance, chillout, whatever).. I dislike rap and country.
 
the only genre i cant really get into is trance. and thats not even saying i completly hate the genre, there are a few songs i dont mind. oh, and modern country also. but im willing to give just about anything a chance though.
 
Not the only one? No you are like everyone. I can't count how many times I've heard people say "Oh I listen to everything."
