Am I the only one who thinks iTunes sucks?

Thankfully WMP10 came out today and while I hated 9.0, I really like 10. It sync my iPod, lets me choose from a variety of music stores (not just MSN's), syncs lots of OTHER devices, plugin support, automatic file conversion to WHAT I WANT (not just WMA), and its library is almost the same as WinAMPs which is a refreshing feeling.

Anybody else with me? I hated iTunes ever since I *had* to switch for using my iPod. WinAMP had a plugin but it sucked and always fvcked up on me, took up lots of memory, and continually hung on exit taking 100% CPU until I ended the process. The library was the best thing about it but now that WMP10 has a better one (better because I can DELETE FILES FROM MY HARD DRIVE DIRECTLY), I fail to see what makes iTunes worth having at all now.

Thoughts?

does the license agreement still allow MS to do whatever it wants to your computer?

iTunes is a less efficient & hands-on alternative for people who don't understand the basic concept of directory structure. It's also buggy with medium-large music collections, though those with just a thousand or two songs probably won't experience this.

I am not asking whether you like iTunes. I'm asking *what* makes it worth having over WMP10 now? Don't tell me stability -- iTunes crapped out on me plenty of times.

I don't understand Itunes for windows. Is there a way to use directories? I tried it once and thought it horrible.

It sync my iPod

iTunes already did that.

lets me choose from a variety of music stores (not just MSN's)

All the music stores suck, their mp3s are all 128 bitrate. Go buy a CD.

syncs lots of OTHER devices, plugin support

A reasonable improvement.

automatic file conversion to WHAT I WANT (not just WMA)

lol. I'd hardly call that an improvement, more like too little too late. That's the ONLY music library program I know that formatted their songs in a file type initially unsupported by everything but itself.

and its library is almost the same as WinAMPs which is a refreshing feeling.

Sorry but the organization of iTunes is hands down its best feature. Considering all it's playlist features, you're downgrading using any other program for that.

Between what I said already and network streaming from other users, I'll stick with iTunes. Oh and the visualizer rocks. My 2c.

iTunes handled my 30GB of mp3s fine, but I already have them sorted by artist and album in Windows explorer so I just use winamp. The only thing I use iTunes for is the built-in online radio, which is pretty good.

Wrong. MSN music store distributes in 160kbps WMA, which sounds great.

BTW WMP10 blows iTunes out of the water.

I hate iTunes, but how can you prefer Windows Media Player?

WMP and iTunes share all of the same problems, IMO (except that WMP doesn't randomly format my iPod).

WinAmp 4ever
