Am I the only one who has trouble driving with new shoes/sneakers?

Bought some new shoes yesterday, and I decided the break them in a little bit today. Got out and drove around a little bit, and it felt like it was the first time I drove the car.

I notice this every time I buy a new pair of shoes. Some shoes give me a lot of feedback from the clutch pedal, so it's always a breeze to drive with them. Other shoes, like the ones I bought yesterday - give me absolutely no feedback whatsoever and it makes for some very questionable shifting. :)

lol, anyone else have this problem? It probably doesn't help that the soles of the shoes I bought are wide + 1" thick.

No cus I prefer to drive cars with torque so it doesn't take much to get them going.

lol, I sometime miss my Jetta sometimes for this very reason. I never had to gas up to move it.

But when I am accelerating at 7-8k RPM's I quickly forget. :)

A manual trans always takes me a little adjusting when driving with a different pair of shoes. I would wear boots for work and regular shoes otherwise when I had a manual, and every weekend or Monday it would throw me off a bit adjusting to difference between the two.

I was changing the oil today and was wearing flip flops while working. So rather than changing shoes to warm up the car/pick up some oil, I just drove with the flip flops on. It felt so weird that I just took em off and bare-footed it.

I adjust my heel-toe shifting based on the shoes...I can't heel-toe in flipflops or boots at all, barefoot, it's better but not consistent. I've got sneakers and office shoes that work great for this, but they're both starting to wear out :-(

I had bought some VERY uncomfortable PUMA sneakers once, and drove home for about 45 minutes with no sneakers (just socks.) At first it seemed weird, but I really liked it after a few minutes.

It really felt like I was part of the car.
