Am I the only one who cried at the end of Start Trek Nemesis?

:(

Bah... women cry watching original movies on the O Channel and Lifetime -it's not unfathomable that a nerd cried at the end of Star Trek, is it? :p I love this movie. Data was always my favorite character, second only to Warf. Yes, I'm the big dumb type (literally). I mean seriously... after so long and trying so hard to find out what it is to be human and failing, you can almost see something in his eye as he's standing there at the end staring at the wall. Staring at the place where his friend stood only moments earlier. Man... I'm such a worthless sap :( I guess that's understandable, though. I get called a woman on IRC all the time and I'm a hopeless romantic.

Oh well.

One question, though. If transporters were down, what main system did that little transport device have to sync with in order not to transport Picard into the vacuum of space?? I was thinking the ship's main computer, but there's a reason that the transporter system had it's own system. Don't tell me that I'm getting too technical. I see people arguing over how many decks were on the Enterprise and how it's not possible that an episode of TNG featuring a three-nacell'd Enterprise could achieve warp 10. :p Anybody?

where's the option for "Hell No, Scotty"

EDIT: BTW, I've never seen any ST movie or TV episode.

I cried during the whole movie. Felt cheated when I realized that one of the scenes from the trailer wasn't even in the damn movie...

Which one was that? Did you watch the deleted scenes on the DVD? There's quite a lot in there.

It was the morphing scene, forget exactly what morphed, the younger Picard into something else? Haven't seen the DVD...

Hrm... nothing in the movie had anything even resembling morphing, with two exceptions. While Praetor is using his viceroy to enter Troy's mind while she's making love, his face "morphs" into the face of the viceroy because she's starting to break the link between minds and sees through the viceroy's visual perception. The second is ... sh|t I forgot. Grr. I know there's a second instance where you could consider something morphing and I just had it. Oh well. I'll think of it later.

They didn't add any new scenes, just showed a few that were cut. Would be nice to see an uncut version.

I didn't cry, but I was a little stunned the first time I saw the movie.

Well, there's a lot of deleted scenes. The movie was originally shot 45 minutes longer than what it is now (just under two hours). Many of the deleted scenes are on the DVD, but not nearly all of them. I'd say about 20 minutes worth. Two scenes were taken out because they "raped" (editor's verbage) the movie by revealing the identity of Shinzon before the away team encounter at the stair case. The stair scene is much more powerful without the two scenes, but those scenes do add to Shinzon's character.

:( I guess I'm just hard pressed to lose a well known character after 15 years. :p

Maybe a little teary eyed, but not all-out boo hooing. I love Data :(

I got a little teary eyed... Blue Skies is now one of my favorite songs, strangely enough.

I heart Data.

Cheers!

I had high expectations for Nemesis, and was very disappointed when I saw it in the theater.

I felt the end with Data was very poorly done. I guess I find *poof* somewhat anticlimactic.
