Am I the only one thinking this is a bit too much?

State District Judge Keith Dean ordered Frank Dorsett to serve two 180-day terms, drive a car with no more than 130 horsepower, carry a photo of the wreckage, take daily medication that will make him sick if he drinks alcohol and put a bumper sticker on his vehicle asking other motorists to call the probation department if he's driving recklessly.

Yeah, he should be punished but I don't think all that is appropriate.

What do you think?

I take it alcohol was a factor in the crash. Well I don't agree with the driving a car with < 130 HP and the alcohol restriction. I mean he can still kill someone with a car that does less than 130 HP right?

I think its perfectly appropriate, the man was involved in a hit and run and killed someone. He is very lucky the judge dosent just lock him up with bubba for a couple of years.

Yes, but its harder to go recklessly fast in one. My poor car has a whopping 90hp its damn tough to get it to go over 70mph.

I think that's a good idea. A bit light, if you ask me. Drunk drivers should be shot on sight.

I'm not against the idea of punishing him to the fullest extent. I just dont think it's civilized to order a man to take a pill that will make him sick if he drinks alcohol.

If he was in Europe he would face jail time for that.

Personally i wouldn't complain if they took him out of his car and shot him on sight.

You do NOT drink and drive, my kids are out there.

There is NO excuse for it, it is extremely simple, if you drink you do not drive and if you drive you do not drink.

If it was up to me, he would never ever be driving again.

Ah, but he had to agree to that, didn't he?

I agree with your last sentence. He shouldn't be driving again, agreed, but forcing him to take a pill that will make him sick if he drinks alcohol is not very civil.

He has no sympathy from me either way.

How sick? Vomit and Diarrhea sick or what? I mean, would that still stop him from driving?

His ass should either be in jail or his license revoked... permanently, or both.

Wrong. It prevents him from driving a truck or SUV or other heavy vehicles. It's easier to kill someone with a heavy vehicle than a light one.

Include heart palpitations and massive headaches, severe panic anxiety that usually means hospital visits if you don't knwo how to defeat it.

I agree though.
