When I tell people that I don't drink, it seems they always assume I must be an alcoholic. But if I were to tell those same people that I didn't do drugs (assuming of course that I DIDN'T do drugs ;) ) they wouldn't conclude that I was a drug addict! Am I the only one that finds it somewhat disturbing that in our society if you don't drink, people think there is something WRONG with you? Maybe I just don't like puking on my shoes?

Its because far far more people drink than do drugs. Many people do not do drugs regularly or have never tried them but many many people drink on a semi-regular basis. I know I do. I don't get drunk and haven't been drunk in probably a couple of years or more (the pain the next day is unbearable), but I still may go through a 6 pack in a night just chilling.

I am interested in why you don't drink? Also how old are you?

46 and it just never seemed worth it to me. I don't like the taste of beer (except REALLY dark beer) and hard stuff seems to only be good for getting smashed. And getting drunk just isn't worth the wqy you feel the next day. By the way, I look quite young for my age. (so it's not because I look like I was rode hard and put away wet that people assume i HAVE Or HAVE had a drinking problem)

If someone told me they don't drink, the last thing I'd think of is that they are an alcoholic. My first assumption would probably they don't partake for religious reasons, my 2nd would be that it doesn't agree with them (as is your case).
